Nairobi & Kilifi, Kenya | October 2025
Over the course of October 2025, the YORA Masterclasses transformed classrooms and coastal spaces into hubs of global learning, collaboration, and creative excellence. Hosted in partnership with the United States International University (USIU) in Nairobi and The Terrace, Kilifi, this year’s edition marked a defining moment in YORA’s mission to equip Africa’s next generation of creatives, entrepreneurs, and innovators with world-class skills.
Bringing together global educators, Hollywood talent, and African industry leaders, the Masterclasses offered an immersive month of training across disciplines such as Film & Documentary Production, Acting & Theatre, AI & Robotics, Tech Diplomacy, Entrepreneurship, and International Trade.
Global Expertise Meets Local Innovation
Among the most anticipated sessions was the Acting and Theatre Masterclass led by Hollywood actor and educator Peter Macon, known for his transformative teaching approach and cross-cultural storytelling insights. His sessions inspired young creatives to connect performance with authenticity and identity — leaving an indelible mark on participants and faculty alike.
Other notable facilitators included experts from the Krach Institute for Tech Diplomacy, P. Kegode, J. Odanga, S. Mujera, C. Ndungu, S. Amadalo, W. Namasake, and S. Kaiyare — each bringing deep domain expertise and mentorship to participants.
The Tech Diplomacy Masterclass, delivered by the Krach Institute, was a highlight — offered free of charge to select students and professionals through YORA’s partnership, granting access to online certification programs and global learning opportunities in AI governance and technology policy.
Impact Beyond the Classroom
With over 90 participants trained out of more than 300 applications, the YORA Masterclasses demonstrated the growing appetite for world-class creative and entrepreneurial education across Africa. Participants gained not only technical skills but also soft skills, mentorship, and access to YORA’s wider ecosystem — including the YORA Summit and Tech Diplomacy Roundtable that connected them to international leaders, investors, and policymakers.
The outcomes have been transformative: past alumni from the 2024 cohort have already reported career advancements and promotions, citing their YORA certifications in Film and Acting as key milestones in their professional growth. The 2025 cohort continues that momentum — with plans to expand into an annual YORA Academy, offering continued mentorship, digital learning access, and international placements.
Inspiring the Next Generation
YORA’s commitment to bridging continents through knowledge exchange remains unwavering. As one participant shared, “YORA didn’t just train us — it connected us to a vision of what Africa can become when creativity, innovation, and collaboration meet.”
The YORA Masterclasses 2025 stand as a testament to Africa’s growing creative and innovation power — a fusion of learning and legacy that is shaping the continent’s next chapter of excellence.
